MEETING THE ENERGY NEEDS OF THE COMMONWEALTH. Southside Electric Cooperative is one of 13 not-for-profit distribution electric cooperatives in Virginia. From the Allegheny Highlands to the Eastern Shore and from the Washington D. C. suburbs to the North Carolina border,these member-owned co-ops are the sole provider of electricity in portions of 68 of Virginia’s 95 counties. COOP RIGHT-OF-WAY MAINTENANCE

Keeping right-of-ways clear is an ongoing part of the Cooperative’s preventive maintenance program. It involves the cutting of brush and undergrowth, as well as the Trimming of trees that might grow up and endanger electric distribution lines. Right-of-way maintenance activities take place during periods of good weather, and during regular Cooperative working hours when they can be performed easily and efficiently. ->More Info
